2. What's the difference between quote automation and order automation?
Quote automation starts with the request and ends with a finished quote. Order automation starts with the purchase order and ends with a booked order in the ERP. Together they form the quote-to-order process.
3. Does sales order automation replace inside sales?
No. It takes over searching and typing. Inside sales reviews and approves every transaction and gains time for advising customers, following up and handling tricky cases.
4. How is AI-powered automation different from EDI and OCR?
EDI only works with standardized messages and is set up per trading partner. OCR reads fields in fixed positions and breaks on new layouts. AI understands the content of a request regardless of format and learns from every correction.

5. How accurate is AI product matching?
It depends on your catalog and your requests, which is why we test Mercura on your own data. As a reference point: at one lighting manufacturer, matching accuracy on third-party specifications is 92%.
6. Do we need perfect master data?
No. Product master data with short and long descriptions plus a few real requests are enough to start. Mercura also reads datasheets, technical documentation and catalog text.
7. What happens when the AI isn't sure about a line item?
The line item goes to your team for review instead of being processed automatically. Every line item is rated confident, uncertain or unresolved. Unclear cases are flagged, never guessed.
8. Does the AI recognize customer descriptions and legacy part numbers?
Yes. Mercura learns each customer's wording, including old SKUs and manufacturer part numbers, and maps them to your current product. The lookup happens once, not on every order.
ERP and IT
9. Which ERP systems does sales order automation work with?

10. Where does pricing happen?

11. How much effort does our IT team need to plan for?
Very little at the start. Your business team tests with your own data first, with no ERP integration. IT only gets involved once you decide to integrate.
Security
12. Is our data shared with other customers?
No. Each customer works in a separate environment. Data, corrections and learned rules are never shared with other customers, including competitors, and this is contractually guaranteed.
13. Is AI order automation GDPR-compliant?
With Mercura, yes. Data is hosted in Frankfurt on ISO/IEC 27001 and 27018 certified servers, and your data is never used to train external AI models.

A technical test on your data is usually available within two working days. A pilot area typically goes live in under four weeks.
